Intro to Cattle Working with Molly Wilson

February 17, 2019

Trainer, Molly Wilson, is back for another intro clinic for working cattle!

Molly Wilson is 26 and owns Red Iron Horse Farm in Newton NH. She has been riding since She was 5 years old. Competed at a national level in reining in college, won multiple versatility titles, and currently, competes professionally in cowboy mounted shooting.

All of Molly’s training has a foundation in reining, to gain control of the horses feet and create the best handle possible to create a willing and able partner in your horse.

The day starts with gauging everyone's ability ..... No minimum age necessarily .... But everyone should be able to safely walk trot canter. This is open to western AND English riders!!

The First half of the day is going over reined cow horse drills :.... Working on getting a good handle on your horse, like rollbacks, spins, circles, and a good stop.

We then stop for lunch at noon and set up the arena for the cattle to come out ...... 😁🐮

Molly will help desensitize any nervous horses to the cattle and then up set chutes for people to run the cattle through the chutes, and get a feel of how to move cattle with your horse. At the end of the clinic, there will be timed obstacle run for everyone to work the cattle!
